Have Live? BUY THIS
I Had this game recommended to me several months after it came out and was suspect about it having never played any of the COD series before. It has been so worth the £40 i payed for it. Although many people go on about the campagin being to short firstly although it is quite short you have the challenge of doing it on veteran with no co-op which is deffinitly a challenge. Secondly if you buy this game and have live then there is no way you will spend all your time doing the campagin. I used to spend all my time on live on halo this game has made me stop playing that and this is now my most played game on live by far. The live set up is better than halo for several reasons. Firstly it is easier than halo esspecially for beginners and also it is much more rewarding as you go through the ranks unlocking better weapons and perks. This is the best game i own. only gears of war and halo come close in shooter terms and this beats them no problems. -

Great Fun
Yeh i bought this a wile back, before COD:WAW came out, and loved it... it gave me hours of extensive online game play and with the extra maps, it game even more. The campaign was brill and it defenatley one of the best games on the xbox 360. Until this Christmas that is (when all the other NEW games are released) -

Too frantic.
I'd put off buying this game for a while, but I finally got taken in by the 'game of the year' label and various reviews by gamers saying it was their favourite FPS.
I have to say it certainly isn't anywhere near mine or my sort of game.
Basically it involves running after (following) other characters with them telling you what to do and when an enemy is about and if you lag about wanting to analyse the area, or find a nice angle for shooting, too late, one of the computer controlled charcters has already shot the 'tango' for you. So you just end up running around in ridiculously hectic environments, realistic some might say, and firing you gun aimlessly around hoping you hit bad guys. You also have to look down the barrel of the gun, which obscures the bottom of your screen. It maybe realistic, but it's just not fun, and you can give little thought to your attacks.
Then again, you may love squad shooter games, like rainbow 6 and the plethora of other games where you have to rely and order around computer controlled characters. Not me.
It's fine if you like that sort of thing and I'm sure you might well rate it a 4 or 5 for it's graphics and smoothness, it's just not for me.

The Best Game Ever
The single player aspect of this game is quite good, the graphics are breath taking and it truly pushes the boundaries of first person shooters. There's great storyline and the action scenes beat pretty much anything I've ever seen before. It's based in contemporary times, where you take on the role of American Marines or British SAS forces, and as many games in the market focus on WW2, a modern setting really adds some diversity.
The real plus about this game however is the multiplayer, you just can't get bored of it. You get experience points with every kill you make online, and with experience you unlock new weapons and kit. There are also countless challenges to complete: headshots, kill streaks, vandalism, melee attacks etc. The graphics on the multiplayer are also, utterly incredible. The wide variety of weaponry is also a big bonus, Assault rifles, sub machine guns, shot guns, mini guns, sniper rifles, all of which can be fitted with grenade launchers, red dot sights, silencers and scopes.
There's enough to this game to keep you going for months. Game of the year doesn't do it enough justice. This is game of the century. An absolute MUST for any Xbox 360 owner. -

Call of Duty 2 with modern weapons
If you love the same gameplay as before with poor physics and laggy online then you'd love this. The only good thing is that the games story is average but other than that this game is very behind in features for it's generation, no cooperative play, no custom games where you can create your own game types or even any form of map editing.
The game is just a basic shooter that offers nothing new to the table, if you wish to play a game which uses the best of Xbox Lives functions then buy Halo 3, Far Cry 2, Forza Motorsport 2, FIFA 09, Fable 2 or Gears of War 2.
