Horrible bug ridden software
I will never touch Vista again, uses too much RAM and HD space. it's also buggy and incompatiable at times.

The bashing..., is dated. Honesty time.
As the whole internet should know by now, there were a "trend" to bash Vista. It's cyclic. It happened to NT, it happened to XP.
It's all too esoteric, and it's of course a result of esoteric/sentimental reasons rather than honesty. Thank God is dying. I managed to pass that and bought a new laptop which came with Vista Premium, and it's absolutly awesome! It integrates beautifully with the 360, the Media Center is a must! With the new SP1 it now recognizes 4gb, and comes full of nice little features like online shrink/growth of partitions (oh, maybe MS will be fined now because they included this fot their consumers and 3rd party products are no longer needed...).
Anyway, my recomendation, leave the 90's MS bashing where it should be... buried, and enjoy a great OS. -

I'm sticking up for Vista!
I hated Windows Vista in its pre-SP1 days, but with SP1, it is a great OS to use. It just makes things SO much easier (like live previews of minimized windows). If you have a reasonably modern, dual core+ computer, it should run fine. P.S. complete novices stay away, it still requires a bit of technical knowledge to be able to use it easily.
