Good Idea!
I bought this item for an African safari holiday mainly for the USB charger facility, so that I could charge my phone and Sony MP3 player. Plug adaptor is great and I have used it many countries with no problems. USB charger is a waste of space. It would not charge my MP3 player or my phone. In fact I can not find anything it will charge! -

works great
I have used this product in various places round the world, and have never had a problem. The USB part of the adapted also includes a fuse, which gives you a little piece of mind that your gadget won't burn out when charging (you also get a spare fuse). A little pricey, but worth it. -

An expensive but hopefully useful gadget
I bought this for the added USB charging port and its supposedly working in 150 countries. Of course, I have no idea if this is true!
The most annoying thing to say is NOWHERE does it state whether or not it is a voltage converter except once you've opened the packaging. Just to set you straight, it is NOT! So, why, you ask, is it so expensive? The answer is : no idea. So, you could say they are lying when they say charge anything.
By the way, it says not to use it with a hairdryer!! -

THE gadget
If you have a bit more money to spend on a converter then go ahead and get it. It's worked perfectly for me! It does everything, converts any pin shape to any pin shape, and i got it because it also has the USB charger which saved me on my holiday. Plus you get the added bonus of receiving the envy/admiration of your friends!! -

Saves so much space!
Used this on a "round the world" trip in April, and it charged my Phone and iPod via the USB, and allowed me to charge my camera batteries where ever I was. You'll never need another adaptor. Neil, sorry to hear you had problems. I think you've got a broken one, see if you can get a replacement, as it really is a nice bit of kit.
