Great Photos, Terrible Reliability
bought this on 2nd january and it was back in amazons hands by the 5th.

While i had it, the camera took some incredible photos, really did and had loads of different functions.

On the second day however, it started citing "error 99", then "error 35" and wouldnt take any photos. upon doing some research, i find this is a "common problem".

sorry, but i dont expect a "common problem" on a camera i spent £450 on. CERTAINLY not 2 days after buying it either!

amazon were great with refund though

Mmmmm, nice.
Traded up from a 300d which I've had for 4 years. The main reason for this was that the old eyesight is going a bit and I thought the much larger rear screen would help me....which it does!
I'm no expert, so I'll leave that stuff to the people who know, but I find it nice and easy to use.
Used it today in the sport mode with a friends dog. Despite the poor light, it focused and shot very quickly.
The live view is nice for taking the guesswork out of exposure compensation for things like sunsets.
For those who don't realize, it does NOT come with a card. Bad news on Xmas morning......

Great Buy
Bought this camera yesterday with the 18-55mm kit lens. Taken loads of pictures already and it peforms amazingly. Only downside so far is that it doesn't take widescreen photos, which my previous canon did

Second hand when bought new
I just bought a new Canon EOS 450D as a Christmas present from Amazon online. The camera was supplied by Amazon EU S.a.r.L. I was sent what was very clearly a used camera. The box was clearly opened, not packed properly and what should have been a new camera had finger prints on the lens and view finder of the camera. Very very disappointed.

To Amazon's credit I was given the opportunity to retun the camera and now just hope I get a full refund. Any one had a similar experience. ?

Excellent camera
I took this to my trip in Dubai. As a new user of SLR's it took me a little time to get the hang of it, after a short while i was snapping everywhere. The picture quality is breathtaking. Wonderful camera
