Not up to standard of previous games
2 player options limited, so much so that it becomes pointless very quickly without online play (which produces error messages more often than not). On its way to the charity shop very shortly, -

A big step backwards...from the SNES version! Gimmicky.
Oh dear. Whatever happened to the game i remember on the Super Nintendo??? What was once an exciting, addictive, responsive, challenging game has been reduced to this gimmick. I had to plug in my SNES and play the real thing, such was my disappointment and disbelief at what i'd witnessed on the wii. As mentioned by another reviewer, you feel detatched from the action due mainly to poor control and general randomness of the outcome of both the driving and the races.
What is the point of a driving game that gives you no feel of how well you are doing, other than the race position you currently are in? There is no sense of how fast or slow you are going? If only they had not made the game so messy, with so much going on, and made it more responsive (the inclusion of an option to play using the old style '+' controller would have been nice). I actually found that my driving was more successfull the less i moved the wheel, and, infact, not moving it much meant the kart was almost guided round the easier sections of the track by itself! Driving a real car is so far removed from this game, it's just not funny. Ironic, seeing as Nintendo have introduced steering wheel type control. The steering also has a glitch which means you're turning the wheel hard one way but your kart is turning the other way! Maybe on the next ninendo console it'll be better? I'll be playing the SNES version until then.
Overall: About as exciting as watching the national lottery draw with no ticket. No longevity in this at all. For kids only.

A GREAT GAME FOR EVERYONE!!
This was one of the first games I bought for my wii and it is one of the best if not the best game i've bought.
It is a very easy game to control that is great for the wii. I play this with my sister and my friends and we all find fun.
I couldn't find a single problem with this game the gameplay's great, the controls are great and the grafics are great. And it even encourages miis (even though you have to unlock them.) Very enjoyble game for hardcore gamers and on/off gamers. :)
