Sort of works with ipod touch 2nd generation!
It's a nice looking product, but at first I thought it didn't work at all with the ipod touch 2nd gen. When you put the ipod touch into the docking station the sound just comes out of the internal speakers, the speaker system of the Gear 4 don't kick in. I realise now that to deactivate the internal speakers of the ipod touch you need to have something in the headphone jack, but because the headphone jack is on the same side as the docking/connection port of the ipod touch you can't have it in the Gear 4 system at the same time! So to use the speakers you have to take the ipod touch off of the Gear 4 speakers and attach a double ended lead between the ipod touch & Gear 4 speakers & then it works fine, although doesn't look as good! You don't have this problem with ipod nano for example as the Gear 4 speakers kick in automatically, it's just any ipod with internal speakers built in. You can use the Gear 4 to charge your ipod touch, but not to play music through whilst its attached...unless I've missed something! -

Awesome performer
For £35, (£50 in John Lewis) this is a brilliant ipod speaker set - not tinny, and with sufficient base to pass it as extremely competent. Add to that its amazing slim size and complimentary carry case, I'm extremely glad with this purchase. And I am very fussy about speakers. AND I ordered it at 4.30pm on a Tuesday and it arrived on the Wednesday - it was the perfect online shopping experience - cheers Amazon. -

Tips on Use
This is an excellent little product and a bargain at £35 odd pounds. To get the best out of the unit, you need to access the EQ menu on your ipod and select "small speakers". This transforms the sounds from something inside a tin to a well rounded sound and remarkable coming from so small an item. I have not experienced any feedback but I would suggest that you give it a dedicated socket so it doesn't get any interference from anything else you might be running at the same time. Equally don't place it near the mobile.
This is a fabulous item and means I can now access my full CD library in the kitchen as, apparently, my singing voice without any accompanying music needs some attention (I don't know what he can mean!!).
Enjoy! -

Don't buy if you have a 2nd Gen iPod Touch.
This item does't work with the new iPod Touch, I saw it in HMV with the new Ipod docked in it (God knows how they managed that!) and bought one (from Gamestation 'cos it was £15 cheaper) only to discover that it doesn't connect at all, I have a 5th Gen Ipod Video and I've got to say I wasn't that impressed with the sound considering the price, you can get better for cheaper! -
