Beware of compatibles!
Epson Stylus Photo RX685 All-in-One Printer, 6.3cm LCD, USB
Bought this printer to replace my previous canon printer because canon cartridges were too costly. The multipack inks work out cheaper, but are still expensive, Epson charge £45 for the full pack!needless to say i buy mine from other sources!
I have tried compatible cartridges but whilst i've had no problems with previous printers, the Epson doesn't seem to like them. I've had nothing but trouble with compatibles - the ink clogged the nozzles and everything printed out in shades of pink and blue (great if you like those colours)! At first, the printer recognised the cartridges and displayed ink levels correctly, but lately it's refusing to recognise the cartridges and won't print at all! Ah well- i suppose i've got to admit defeat and start buying genuine ink again, other than these problems though, its a great all round printer. -

Total waste of money
I've just installed these inks and within 2 minutes, according to the ink cartridge status panel, I am back down to only 25% of all inks!
That and the fact that it now refuses to print a decent picture at all ensures that this is the last Epsom printer I shall ever buy.
Whether this is down to the ink or the printer I don't know, but it's all Epson. -

How much?
I know people prattle on about the price we, in the UK, get charged for stuff... but this is really taking the pee. Having not long returned back from the states, I wonder why we are being charged the same price in pounds as the US gets charged in dollars... is it because we are a race of people who don't like to complain. Do Epson just think they can just `mug us off' with these over inflated prices? Take a good long look Epson at how many compatible ink cartridges are on the market and how many people are buying them. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to work out we are being made fools of. Too be fair the ink is good quality... but not six or seven times better than the compatibles! The printers a bit of a brute too and eats far too much ink. Why does it need to charge switching between disc and paper printing? As soon as the warranty runs out its back on the £1.29 per cart compatibles and a big `up-yours' finger to the money grabbing owners of Epson. -

Epson Ink
Well,
I have tried compatible inks and they are just not the same so if you want quality ok a little more pricey but stick with the original epson ink. -

Bad on ink used R360 Photo
I purchased these inks from Amazon because the price was very competive with other suppliers. Iam not blaming Amazon but Epson you would have thought that buying genuine ink would be more economical how very wrong. I am going back to using the compatable ink that I used before they lasted a lot longer. (billytwobob)
