Warranty not worth the paper.
Beware! Some dishonesty here.

The device worked well. However, once it stopped working, it was just useless. The company then denied their own warranty. On their website it states that the warranty for ALL their products is for 24 months. Not so.

You might be lucky and the thing will continue to work. If you aren't it will just be a small heap of junk.

Seems like it works like it should
Bought this for my Vista Home PC (32bit) so I can record freeview programs when the main (single tuner) DVD recorder is busy. I connected it to the PC, connected the ariel (putting it on the shelf above the desk), installed the driver off the CD, then started Windows Media Center. It detected everything fine, setup all the Freeview channels (plus a few I had never heard of)and did everything I would have expected. It's a single channel Freeview tuner by the way.

It's worth noting that I live in a city with a very good freeview reception so the small internal ariel works fine (the base is magnetic so perhaps not a good idea to stick on top of you computer...). I suspect in areas of weaker reception it wont work as well.

The supplied remote *sort* of works with Windows Media Center - but it's not something I'm bothered about.

The actual supplied software (Blaze) looks OK - not as flash as Windows Media Center (but does do subtitles). I wont be using it, but nice to know it's OK (I did have an issue with both installed - Media Center wouldnt work until I deinstalled Blaze and rebooted. Again this is fine for me as I will go with Media Center.

As for quality - looks very nice on my (dont laugh!) 15" cheap LCD screen.

So all in all 5 out of 5 for me.

exellent
this product is amazing. i live in staffordshire. downloaded the software of the internet because it comes with a mini disk. plugged it in searched for channels of the ariel provided. found 6 channels then i put the magnetic ariel on to a backing tray and scanned again and i got 78 channels the reception is wonderful. you can even pause live tv. take snap shots of the programmes and record programmes onto your harddisk in on click. i would recommed this product to anyone. exellent product

Its all about the software!
After a couple of frustrating hours with this kit and the supplied TV software ( No channels found, no activity on the LED on the dongle to let me know it was even active ) I was ready to give up. I googled around and found GB-PVR. Its a much more advanced bit of software and it found around 20+ channels. That'll do me.

So, get GB-PVR and your away!

A cheerful device with great price!!
I find the August USB Tv receiver fantastic! It's a nice gadget at an attractive price. It works perfectly fine on my IBM. The set up was very simple following the instruction. The blazevideo software is easy to use and the interface looks cool with a bundle of different features!
I use the supplied aerial since I don't have a rooftop aerial. I assume the freeview signal where I live will be good as I am living in London zone 2. Given the price is cheap I thought it is worth a go.
It came up about 52 channels on the EPG list included 8 or 9 radio channels. I am very glad as it has most of the channels I like: ITV1-3 Sky sports news, E4+1, Sky Three, Five, Five US BBC1, BBC2, BBC3 BBC news 24,Sky news 24, and some shopping channels etc. It has more channels than the previous TV card I used on my PC. But it does depend on the signal strength of the area you live and the aerial location.

The TV subtitle works fine and the picture quality of the channels that i did get is surprisingly clear. Very impressed.
This small usb device is great value for money and lots of fun! Highly recommend!
