Swim Workouts for Triathletes
The only thing missing at first was a definitive plan of exactly which workout to complete on which day. But once you realise you have a choice of up to 15 workouts of a specific type to select from it's a great asset to training. If you are a beginner follow the plan but trim down the distance of the sets. Once you ahve completed one set of 12 weeks start again but this time do all of the shorter set. At the end of the 12 weeks start again but try to complete some of the longer sets. This is a very well thought out training plan and a excelent way of developing your swimming. The plastic coated pages mean that the book lasts a long time even when constantly getting wet.

Love it! Truly waterproof.
I've been swimming for over 15yrs, on and off, and have always had trouble coming up with new workouts on my own. Boredom is usually the reason for stopping my training. However, I heard about this book from a friend and decided to give it a try. I'm absolutely hooked on my book now. I'm excited to try my next workout. The waterproof pages are truly waterproof, I keep it on the deck while I swim and in my pool bag when I'm done and so far it has held up just fine. The workouts are challenging and varied. The distances are high, even of the easier sets, the lowest distance is about 2200m. -

A Must Have Book
I've been using this book for about 6 months now and have found it totally invaluble. If you're a self coached triathlete this book is a real must have. No more trying to figure out what sets to do, this book lays everything out for you. It also contains two variations to each session, one for the stronger swimmers and another for beginners.I would recommend this book to anyone.

Perfect Pool-side companion
If like me and many other Triathletes, you find the swimming the hardest part of the race, let alone all the training you want to do, then this book is definitely for you.I picked it up in the US before I could hold of it here and have been using it for about 3 months now. It doesn’t include any tips on tech. or too much depth on what sessions to do, when and how many etc, but other books (such as the Triathletes Training Bible cover this amply). However, it does contain more sessions that you could shake your fins at.
This includes a wide variety of types of sessions to get you in top shape for you next race. Everything from aerobic, force, speed, anaerobic and more. The beauty of it is that you don’t need to ever get board of doing the same 5 - 10 sessions on rotation. This has helped me do the training I know I need to do, as each session is different to the last 20 you've done, all without having to tax your "rubber swim hat covered brain" at all.
All of this is geared to triathletes so the sessions are of a decent distance too (anywhere between 2-3.5km). A guide to pace for each workout is given to help you get the right pace for each set plus times for rest, set intervals and goal race pace. 2 distance options are given for every workout to try and cover from Sprint to IM training, though I would say it’s most suited to Olympic distance triathletes.
At this price, you can’t go wrong, and with the great design of waterproof pages, it makes the perfect pool companion
