Superbad, for many, was the surprise hit of the year. Yet when you consider the comedy pedigree sitting behind the camera, perhaps it's not that much of a turn up. Director Greg Mottola, for instance, cut his teeth on episodes of Arrested Development and the underrated US show Undeclared. Co-writer Evan Goldberg has credits on the US Ali G show, while his partner in scribe is Seth Rogen, star of 2007's other breakout comedy, Knocked Up. And with that film's director, Judd Apatow, also on the production team, it's understandable to see where Superbad gets its quality from.
Yet in spite of all of these names behind the camera, Superbad is powered by Jonah Hill, previously seen in mainly supporting roles, as the foul-mothed Seth. In conjunction with Michael Cera's Evan, he bursts his way through a film that sees the pair of them trying to buy booze to go to a girl-filled party, before they go their separate ways to college.
Hill and Cera are strong in their lead roles, and keep Superbad motoring even through its quieter moments. But the scene stealer has to be Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Fogell, or--courtesy of his fake ID--McLovin. When he encounters two cops, played by Rogen and Bill Hader, comedy gold swiftly ensues.
Superbad isn't as consistently funny as Knocked Up, and its running time may outstay its welcome a little, but it's still a tough film to knock. It's simple and straightforward aim, to sit on your screen and generate plenty of laughs, is comfortably achieved, and its rewatch value is high as well. Well worth a look. --Simon Brew

Superbad is an accurate description
As a fan of slapstick and other offbeat comedies, I was mislead by the trailer into thinking that this would be another good movie - boy, was I wrong. In fact, the trailer is, probably, a compilaton of all the funny scenes in the whole movie.
I bought this at a £3.99 discount price and still felt robbed!
I wish I could have given it a 0 star rating!!!!!!!!

SuperBAD is accurate
Quite simply one of the worst movies I have ever seen - definitely in my top 10 worst of all time. Very few amusing parts - the main character is so irritating that he actually does provide the most laughs - but only when he is being run over AGAIN. It is almost impossible to have any empathy with any of the main characters as people simply do not behave like that (the initial porn site discussion with his best mate being a case in point) in the real world and those that do are the sort of irritating losers who you try to avoid, not spend 1.5 hours of your life watching in the vain hope something truly horrible is about to happen to them. AVOID. -

Super BAD
This was such a let down, was funny in parts but the story line was predictable and boring very similar to previous films -

New-age, sparkling toilet humour.
This is a hilariously funny film. Superb script, identifiable, blatantly crude and crass... but brilliant. Just see it. -

This is not Schindler's list so don't expect anything with a good story , this is just the story of 3 teenagers trying to buy alcohol in order to be popular with girls and maybe get laid.
What follows is a something in between American Pie and South Park , the main character ,Seth , is inspired in Cartman ( fast foul mouth ) and he is both funny and annoying.
The secondary characters are also very funny and Michael Cera provides a bit of romance in the movie. The 2 cops are the most surreal part of the movie to the point of nearly ruining it.
This is an overall 4/5 movie entertaining and funny and full of rude jokes.
The Extras are almost useless , the outtakes are not as amusing as the real movie.
