Supernatural, like so many successful shows before it, starts with a simple concept. When their father goes missing, two brothers--Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) Winchester--head off across the country to try and find him. But their journey isn't easy, especially when you consider the assortment of spirits and nightmarish creatures that stand in their path.
On paper, that sounds a derivative mix of many shows that have gone before it. And to some extent, that's what Supernatural is, yet its mix is nonetheless compelling. What lifts it above the norm is the quality both of the writing, and crucially, the direction of the show. There are moments that are spooky, and some that are downright scary, with plenty of suspense linking the two. And while the 22 episodes have their fair share of peaks and troughs, Supernatural has an edge about it that easily carries it through its slower points.
At the heart of the show, ironic considering the number of other programmes it tips its hat to, is a desire to do things its own way, and for that reason, come Supernatural's maiden season finale, it leaves a real thirst for more episodes. Fortunately, the second season is already in the can, and we suspect it'll continue to grow the number of fans that Supernatural is rightly earning for itself. --Jon Foster

Love this series. I dont like horror like Saw or Hostel but this I can cope with though I still have to occassional peek from behind my hands!
The brothers are sexy and the script funny and scary. its all a little predictable and was never gone win no bigwig awards but if you like your TV to entertain and look good this cold be for you!

Brilliant
This is a very, very good TV show. If you have never seen it, it is definitely worth buying for the (very low) Amazon price.
I find myself loving this series an inordinate amount, probably against my better judgement. But its charm and wit are seductive enough to mostly obscure its faults.
It is wonderfully shot. The tone is dark and moody with the characters often shot in silhouette and I love the way in which the set, car and props seem dusty and used. Unlike many current TV shows everything is not clean and characterless and sanitized. It is this that partly makes the show believable. It does not take place in the bright lights of the modern city with its shiny labs and FBI offices but in the more timeless diners and motels of small town America.
It is also very funny. The two brothers, especially Jensen Ackles (as Dean), have fantastic one-liners. Any TV geek will love the "what would Buffy do?" and the "I'm Mulder, you're Scully" moments. The concept too is ridiculously good fun. Every week the two brothers set out to investigate an urban legend come true. What follows is sometimes scary, often funny and always entertaining. The fight scenes, car, disguises and fake personalities seem to be a perfect formula for enjoyment.
However, this is never going to be the best TV shows ever. The dialogue is sometimes clunky ("we're better as a family Dad and you know that" springs to mind) and you find the actors occasionally struggle with the "manly melting moments" which increase with frequency as the series progresses.
But please, please do not let me put you off too much. In spite of its faults this show has something which is missing in so many others. It has depth of personality and very real, believable relationships.
So I will admit it; this has so be on of my favourite, if admittedly not one of the best, TV shows around.

A brilliant and under rated series
This is a brilliant series. It has wonderful acting, writing, directing, special effects and music. It blends horror, comedy, emotion, family drama, action, mystery and suspense perfectly. I would recommend this as it is an excellent drama series which has been missed by a lot of people because of the lack of publicity compared with other shows. This is the best programme on TV! -

Dumb Fun
If you like your TV shows as dumb as they come this is the TV show for you. First off the two leads cant act to save there life yer sure there "pretty boys" and im sure thats the only reason they got the job on this lol cause these guys really cant act, but they shouldnt feel to bad because the rest of the cast cant act either. Also when you watch it it feels like it was done onthe cheap like they only had $2000 to spend on making the series and they blew half on paying for the jensen guys hair gel. On the plus side this series does have its good points one or two, if you can leave your brain at the door before you sit and watch this you will enjoy it just dont expect much from it -

Now one of my favourite shows!
Supernatural is a thrilling horror show about two brothers who travel the roads of America searching for the father, and the demon that murdered their mother 22 years ago. Great acting from Jared Padalecki (as Sam Winchester), and Jensen Ackles (as Dean Winchester). Absolutely fantastic!
