Hellboy soundtrack (2004)
At this very moment I'm sitting here, listening to the 1st track from this wonderful soundtrack. "Hellboy" is a film that needed some music that spoke to the emotions and the heart. Marco Beltrami has outdone himself here and it makes for fantastic listening. It is a very different musical style to that latest soundtrack for "Hellboy 2" by Danny Elfman.
The tracks vary from being very dark and sinister to almost dance-like when listened to closely. My particular favourites are "Main title" which is pulsing, dark and forceful. A perfect opening musical score. Track number 15 "Abe Sapien" is probably one of the more serene ones but it's very beautiful and reflects Abe's character very well. For me the one track that says Hellboy himself is called "Wake up dead" (track 8) because it's got a rhythm that just is so Hellboy. Very intense, almost demonic in sound. "Fireproof" for me is the one single track that reflects Liz Sherman very well. The ending between Hellboy and Liz is really stunning to listen to...just close your eyes and you will see it.
If you liked "Hellboy" then this is worth buying. You won't be disappointed. Ideal for any soundtrack fan and of course, fans of Hellboy himself. -

More than impressive!!!
Hellboy is a phenomenal piece of composition. Highly memorable, and addicting like the best kind of music drug, the score brilliantly transitions from epic thematic material, to quiet and emotional motifs that bring a deep level of heart and power to the film.
The score is a masterwork in the genre and should be experienced by any who love great film, and great music.
