The Locust Horde is back and only you and your squad of elite soldiers stand between them and the death of every human being on the planet Sera. In Gears of War 2, entire cities are being destroyed in single attacks, and you must take the fight to the Locusts by battling them in their own underground lairs.

The Boomer enemies are back in many different varieties |
The game’s ethos of “destroyed beauty” is still in full effect |
Shoot the Ticker enemies before they explode in your face |
The bestselling third-person shooter is back: bigger, better, and gorier than ever before. But you can't just blast your way through it--this game requires far more tactics and cunning than your usual mindless shooter. A refined cover system means you can use the enemy as “meat shields” as well as hide behind the fully destructible scenery.
The graphics are looking better than ever, and the game is purposefully more bloody and violent than before. The story and characterisation has also been improved, making this an action game sequel with brains as well as brawn.
Key Features- Brothers in arms: Have a friend join or leave your single player game whenever you want, and even battle together on different difficultly levels.
- Evolving enemies: You finally get a chance to take down the giant Brumak enemies, as well as even larger monsters and new creatures, such as the explosive Ticker.
- Practise makes perfect: Practice the multiplayer mode on your own with computer controlled “bots”--then use the new matchmaking system to find a real opponent of the same skill level.
- Chainsaw massacre: If you loved the chainsaw bayonet in the original game, you now can duel computer or human opponents with gaming’s messiest weapon attachment.
- Hordes of options: Try the new five-player Horde mode, where you all face off against an unending wave of enemies, or any of the seven other multiplayer modes.

What a disaster
Campaign is the best single player experience ever.
Multiplayer online is the worst experience ever.
Its that simple. Epic, you should be very disappointed with this effort, whoever designed the online section needs to be taken out into the snow and beaten with large club.
Gears has an army of followers and they have been let down totally. -

GEARS OF WAR BABY!
If you own a 360, you know about gears of war! Its easily the best game on the console and this sequel will not disapoint!
Graphics are superb with only a few glitches and the gameplay is as solid as ever!
The only reason it doesnt get the full 5 star is because of the lentgh of time it can take to find an online game and actually start playing with others over XBL!
Still a great game that you have to be crazy not to pick up! -

Its so good i couldn't quite believe it
Now i wasn't a lover of Gears 1, i found the single player too dark for my liking, same with mulitplayer.
Gears 2 i was honestly shocked, i didn't buy it at launch because of my feelings on Gears 1. The best part of this game is the story, not for years has a video game created so many twists and turns and left absolutely engaged in the story, it was so good i was checking for the Locust when i left my house!
Seriously, the story is something else, so is the length of the single player. I remember telling my girlfriend, I'm on the last act about 6 hours in! No way, i was only at the start of Act 3! (much to her annoyance) I had another 6 hours left, its easily the best single player campaign of the year, its better than COD 5 which i found short even on Veteran.
Online has been tweaked since launch i hear and its ok now, not the best fan of it but there are different options from the first one so i might start playing it hard soon.
Is it for you? If you want a single player game that requires a tactical mind ( you can not just run and shoot) you will love it. If you want something with a good variety of weapons you will love it. If you want to be immersed into story driven combat you will love it. If you want something opened world you won't.
Overall, for an adventure shooter its the best I've played since Halo 2!

Game of the YEAR!!
what can i say, single player is so addictice u won't get your rear end out of ya chair for a good few hours, the graphics are excellent, the story line is excellent, when i boght this game i was abit bothered about spending £35 on it because i knew it wouldnt last long so i thought whats the point, oh well this didnt put me off as much to buying it, i bought it last week played it about 2 - 3 hours a day and im not even half way through it the single player is a BIG game, suprisingly i thought it would of been short, look at cod 4 that was one brilliant game but the length of single player was a huge let down.
also u still have the same characters as gears of war 1 :)
if you are an owner of gears of war 1 then gears of war 2 is a must.
ENJOY
