Avoid...
Firstly, the controllers are fiddly to fit onto the plugs that project from the dock, with nothing to help locate the controller except these spindly bits of metal.
Poor design could be overlooked were it not for that fact that mine caused the PS3 to reboot, failed to charge one of the controllers properly and made my new DualShock vibrate continuously. Don't ask me how, although I suspect dodgy soldering..!
Have decided to get a refund and simply plug a couple of mini-usb leads into an old USB hub. -

Does the job well
Have this running off a usb wall charger so it gets constant power. (adaptor was £1.99 on amazon) The base is weighted so it doesnt move and it has a soft blue glow around the bottom. When a controler is charging a red light on the charger itself will flash red and then stops when its finished.
Great way of storing and charger your controllers, def worth buying -

Just a quick question! Anyone?
Do you have to plug this product into the wall, or can it work just from the PS3 on a USB port?
Anyone know?

Useful charging dock
I plug mine into the mains using a USB mains adaptor. There are no flashing lights and gives off a nice blue glow from the light around the base. It sits in our living room and is not a distraction. We play the PS3 quit a lot and the charger has no problems recharging the controllers. I would recommend this but buy a USB mains adaptor so that the PS3 does not need to be on to charge the controllers. -

Excellent
I have two of these sitting either side of my TV so that all four pads sit nice and tidly charging away. For the price they're a bargain.
