like it
I got one of these as a present and thought "oh well I can always give it to soemone else" - but the box kicked around and got tatty so one day when the garlic crusher was in the dishwasher I gave it a go and found it a good bit of kit for making salad dressings that we now use a lot - gives a smoother taste -

The worst ever invention ?
Disappointed does not begin to describe my view on this product. It does not feel secure and simply does not do what it says it will do. The ball rolls around doing a great impression of diddly squat. I tried to do a marinade with oil, garlic, vinegar, salt and pepper etc. The garlic was bruised at best (certainly not the nice fine mush Oliver states it will come out of)and the rest just stuck to the ball. Luckily John Lewis gave me a refund. Warning - stay well away from this product if you like cooking - it is NOT pukka ! Shame on you Jamie...

A very disappointing experience all round
I bought a Jamie Oliver Professional Flavour Shaker as a present for somebody last October. Unfortunately for both parties, somebody else beat me to it and I was left to keep this item for myself. It wasn't a huge disaster as I quite fancied one anyway.
To start with I was only crushing fine herbs and peppercorns for which it did a fab job. Although I would agree with other reviewers here, it needed both hands to keep the top and bottom of the Shaker together.
This weekend, I needed it to crush some garlic. Despite the informative recipe booklet that came with it, detailing all the wonderful things it would do, including crushing garlic to a pulp for marinades and dressings, it failed to do the job.
I decided to wash the device up and have another go at a later date. The rubber seal came away in the washing up water. It won't go back, and I've only done pepper this evening which has ended up all over the working top.
Unimpressed doesn't describe how I feel. I can only think that 'cut away from camera and we'll crush by another means' goes on in the Oliver programmes. I would not recommend this item. In fact, I've gone back to my cheap and cheerful £6.99 basic pestle and mortar.
Meanwhile, if anybody has any bright ideas as to how I can re-seal my shaker, they'd be very gratefully received.

As Jaime O might say - 'Piece o'Crap!'
Good idea, but the two halves don't lock together properly and tend to come apart when shaken vigorously, unless you hold it clamped in two hands.
Also I ordered the stainless steel version and they sent the plastic one... Amazon UK is only a shadow of the US version... Maybe Bezos needs to look at how things are operating in the UK/EU...
Maybe it should have been made in China and not the EU - haha!! -

Brillant idea- RUBBISH QUALITY
I've returned 2 now due to the locking mechanism being faulty and the rubber seal coming off. Like previous reviewer , it had to be held double handed to keep it together and leaks - not a pleasant experience!!
