Be Warned!!
Well I was warned in advance, so I guess I should have been prepared but the addictiveness of this game is unbelievable. My son and I share an account so we get some respite when the other one is playing!!!

I get what one of the other reviewers was saying about the customisability of the characters, I'm a Sims 2 player so not being able to change face types beyond 10 or basic shapes etc is a bit of a disappointment, although I'm sure there's a valid bandwidth/game play reason!! I love this game though, the landscapes are amazing, the game play is fun, my sons groups up and kills everything in sight, I prefer to solo and quest, there are several ways to play the game so it has a very broad appeal, but buy it at your peril, you won't want to go outside ever again!!

Be Warned - Download Time!!!!!
If you install the trial, then look-out...you will be hooked! But, and a big BUT is, that Blizzard (the game creators), seems to have failed to state that if you buy this game now in 2008 (its been going since 2004) after purchasing the classic game which you must do after 'the trial period', you will have to not only download the new game from the disc (which you have just bought), but will have to download the 'patches' which are installed direct from their site-automatically. This has taken 21 hrs & still counting!! It appears that they are NOT spending money on 'up-dating- bought game software' and are merely depending on 'out-dated' game disc-ware which requires the customers installing patches...albeit are done automatically, but they do take time!?
If you are buying this for a prezzy...my best advice is..:
Hide the computer a few days b4 xmas or birthday..make any excuse up & download everything...but test it!!! lol Then you will be sure to have an agro free few days!

The very best mmorpg
ok, i have been playing wow for 1 year and all i can say is WOW!! it truly is supurb, the sheer amaount of things to acheve in this game is never ending, i am sure you could play it for 20 years and not do everything in the game as the developers are always adding more content.
i am not going into detail as to what this game is about as i feel other reviews have touched on this, i will say that it is VERY ADDICTIVE and will (with no self control) suck you in and make you play 10 hour sessions at a time. there is always 1 more quest to do or 1 more dungeon to raid or 1 more level to get.
for sure if you are a casual gamer this probably will not be for you as the time you must invest is great, but the rewards are great too.
there is a subscription of roughly £8.99 p/m but this can be paid in many different ways like credit cards or pre paid game cards you can pick up through your local videogame shop.
this is a revolutionary game that i would reccomend to anyone who loves videogames, you owe it to yourself to check out. buy it now and get lost in the world of warcraft.............

Fun, Adictive and so much to do.
I must admit I had my doubts when I was advised by a friend to download World of Warcraft. I've played many other MMORPG's and I was worried that it wouldn't live up to the standards of some of my favourites.
After playing the trial, I just couldn't let go of my account. World of Warcraft offers countless numbers of things to do, Massive Player vs Player battles , Excting Dungeons and raids, thousands of quests, a massive achievment system, skills and proffesions. whats more you can create up to 60 characters on just one account. If all this isn't worth your money then no game is. Buy World of Warcraft and you will not regret it. Be sure to manage your time however, it sure can be addictive.

The Greatest Game!
WoW is undoubtably the greatest game created so far. I have to agree with those who warn of possible addiction. It will take months to get to level 70 (soon to be level 80) and that is where the game really begins. You will then meet people who will really show you what a noob (novice) you are and this is after several months of playing! The game is so time consuming that at the top level you haven't got time to do both PvE (player v the environment) and PvP (player v player) so you have to specialise to become really good in one or the other.

The game reigns supreme but it does have its competitors. Warhammer Online has just been realised and may prove to be as good (doubtful as I find the combat ponderous). The next expansion for WoW is just around the corner and the game will be even better and more time consuming.

So in summary: fantastic game but be prepared to put in a huge amount of time if you want to reach the level of the top players.
